- מָרָדְתָּא(מָרְדֵתָא) f. (מְרַד) 1) running about, turbulent. Targ. Prov. 7:11 (Ms. מרדותא, read: מָרוֹדְ׳). 2) כְּנִישְׁתָּא מ׳ name of a synagogue in Caesarea (the turbulent synagogue, v. Josephus B. J. II, 14, 5). Y.Naz.VII, 56a; Y.Ber.III, 6a bot. מדרתא (ed. Krot. מדרתה); Lam. R. to I, 3 מדוכתא; Num. R. s. 12 מדוכת׳ (prob. to be read: מרודת׳).
